Tramadol Addiction

Tramadol is an opioid analgesic used to treat moderate to severe pain. Like other opioids, Tramadol works in the brain to change how your body feels and responds to pain.

Tramadol comes in extended release tablets and capsules and should only be taken as prescribed.

Like all opioids, Tramadol is highly addictive and may cause respiratory distress and even death when combined with other substances, especially alcohol. And like all oxycodone products, withdrawal reactions can occur after regular and/or high dose use.

Tramadol doesn’t help you fight substance abuse.
It makes it worse. Much worse.

Withdrawal symptoms include restlessness, watering eyes, runny nose, nausea, sweating and muscle aches, and can occur immediately after use has stopped. To prevent withdrawal reactions, your doctor may reduce your dose gradually.

The risk of Tramadol addiction is highest among those with substance use disorder (such as overuse of or addiction to drugs/alcohol). Like other opioids, oxycodone can induce nausea, vomiting, constipation, lightheadedness, dizziness and/or drowsiness. Though some of these side effects may decrease after prolonged use. However, prolonged use also increases tolerance to the drug’s effect.

The risk of addiction from Percocet and/or Percodan is highest among those with substance use disorder (such as overuse of or addiction to drugs/alcohol). Like other opioids, oxycodone can induce nausea, vomiting, constipation, lightheadedness, dizziness and/or drowsiness. Though some of these side effects may decrease after prolonged use. However, prolonged use also increases tolerance to the drug’s effect.

Like other opioids, naloxone can reverse Tramadol’s overdose effects. And like all other opioids, Tramadol addiction can be effectively addressed with Medication Assisted Treatment.
